The Healer 04:28
There’s a hurricane in my brain A billion little specks of light Shinning through a tropical rain Lying by your side tonight I never knew that skin Could speak in tongues I never knew lips Could part the seas I never knew that eyes Could set the skies on fire I never knew that words Could bring me to my knees You got the hands of a healer baby You got the touch that resurrects my soul Kiss my forehead I will fall among the chosen Burn my crutches, Walk barefoot on their coals I believe I can walk on water I can fly right through the night I’m faster than a speeding bullet I can even take the kriptonite I don’t need no flak jacket, baby I don’t need no percussion gun I don’t fear no phantom jet Or weapons of mass distruction I found the faith, I’m a born again lover I’m a super hero with you standing by my side There ain’t nothin that we can’t do together We can move the mountains, We can turn the tide
2.
Montana 03:42
She wants to shout, “That’s it-I quit!” Throw her apron on the bar room floor With all the customers eyes upon her Storm out those oak front doors. She wants to run from the city boys Who think that their so cool And the wondering hands Of the small time sharks Liquored up and shooting pool And every night after closing time While the bus boys clear the bar She sings of sweet Montana And strums her blue guitar And hums a little lullaby To the child she carries within And thinks about her night of love With the boy she hoped would be her man She’s a long way from Montana Far from those evenings Of lying in the prairie grass She’s a long way from Montana Where the stars never lie And the nights seldom cry Montana she’s wondering, She’s asking why… Why on earth she ever left you Why she ever left you Though she’d love to go back home And raise this baby country style She’s gonna make it on her own Even if it takes her a while
3.
Somebody 04:19
Somebody’s gonna find you And unlock the door Show you a sky so blue You’ll only want more Somebody’s take you To the mountain tops Show you a view so awesome That you’ll feel God And they’ll show you, you’re not alone And you’ll feel like you’re finally home They’ll take away the loneliness And break away the chains Hold you through the Lightning and the rain Somebody’s gonna love you Somebody’s gonna fly with you High into the sky And you’ll know you found The promised land When you look in their eyes Somebody’s gonna love you Like you’ve never been loved before Somebody’s gonna kiss you so deep You’ll hear the ocean’s roar
4.
There is something beautiful about your sorrow Something pure and innocent, How love is never bought nor borrowed, Sometimes not even heaven-sent. But we love once, and then love once again Not believing for every rise there is a fall Not seeing the perfection in the rain, Perfection in the wind Forgetting that before we walk We’ve got to crawl. Hold on to me baby Hold on baby, hold on tight It’s cold in the Milky Way tonight Hold on Baby don’t you ever let go Your arms are all I know Your arms are where I call my home The birds are singing songs I’ve never heard The clouds roll and shed their tears And for your broken heart there are no words And for your loneliness no need to fear But we love once, and then love again Not believing for every rise there is a fall Not seeing the perfection in the rain, Perfection in the wind Forgetting that before we walk We’ve got to crawl.
5.
Hey, Hey Rain Hey There Rain Could you come and wash away my sins And your lightning Yes your lightning strike my heart and make it sing again Yes I’m a fallen angel I once flew on heaven’s wind There was no pain or danger No beginning and no end But I’ve shifted left and right Drank the darkness from the night Stood gazing at the fires of hell Considering my soul to sell Hey, Hey Rain Hey, Hey Rain I hear thunder I hear thunder I hear Gabriel’s horn blowing at the gate And I hear footsteps Those horses coming Coming for to carry me away But I’m not ready To meet my maker Please don’t take my soul today The rain it also falls from heaven On brothels and churches just the same Across the dusty streets and to the ocenas And lifts back up to the heavens once again
6.
The tide rises beneath my feet The offshore winds they blow so sweet The moon shines its amber glow I feel myself letting go Yes, I see you looking through me I know it must seem odd Something’s gotten to me Is it a devil or a god I can’t recall a night like this Never felt the air so moist, Like an endless kiss And Venus smiling far above I have never felt so loved… On a night like this But I have hungered for times like these Where the stars bring me to my knees Where I can feel from the depths of my soul This gift of life is all I need to know We can run all night long We can run ‘till we’re right We can run ‘till we’re wrong Or feel the ground and look to the stars And know the miracle that we are The tide rises beneath my feet The offshore winds blow so sweet The moon shines its amber glow I feel myself letting go… On a night like this

I Grow Weed 05:23
I grow weed. I grow pot. In my backyard, I grow alot. I make a little money at the pharmacy… Most of my crop-I just give it away. From what I’m told It’s pretty good. I’d smoke more of it if I could But it makes me dumber than a box of rocks It’s a real bummer I can barely talk I’ve got a lot of friends who depend on me I owe a lot of money to my attorney… I grow weed, I grow it real good. I got my own jungle in the neighborhood. I was never good, good at school. Most of those years I sat in corners on your stools. Came home from ‘Nam a little confused. A little bit wounded feeling a little bit used. So I did not get the point of getting a job, I started a garden and I found God. I grow weed, I grow it real good. I got my own jungle in the neighborhood. I was never good at anything else, But I’ve got a thumb green as hell… I got a license, a license to grow. State says OK but the Feds say NO. It’s obvious, it’s clear to me… If they bust me one more time they’re gonna throw away the key Thinking ’bout going underground, It don’t matter to me, I can leave this goddamned town.

Seems like a week full of Mondays Never got my mojo off the ground My lover hasn’t said a word all week Haven’t got a clue what I did wrong They’re talking layoffs at my work My boss is a world class jerk My pay checks always been a joke But I’m not given up my hope ‘Cuz it’s alright I made it here tonight Yes it’s time I stop my stressing Yes It’s alright I’m with friends tonight Yes it’s time we count our blessings… Like a crowd that’s a little bit crazy Shots of gold and a dirty martinis The band rippin that rock and roll Feel myself letting go Come on baby put on that dress Forget about this feelin depressed Money comes and money goes As for our future nobody knows You and I can loose these blues I know we paid our dues Time’s a slippin’ …clock’s a tickin’ You and I got to go out kickin’ Like a car that starts in the morning Warm blankets on a wintry night Hearth glowin with old oak burnin Makin’ love in the fire light

Better 04:07
They say I’m ready to return Now that I can walk on my own So I’m flying home…tomorrow You won’t see the man that I was Because I’ve risen above The pain. The loss…The sorrow. Because I’m better I’m stronger I’m kinder I’m wiser And I live more I love more I give more I care more Yes I’m so much better Than the man I use to be It doesn’t matter if I can’t do the job I did I’ll make a living And I’ve still got my wife and kids I’ve got sunrises, I’ve got sun sets I treasure everyday I watch my children play, I thank the lord that I made it back And I’ll remember those more hurt than me I feel blessed by those who gave it all… Gave their life…for our country

BBQ 03:29
Come on down to my Bar-B-Que This one’s just for me and you I got red fish fryin’ on the open coals I got Zydeco on the radio Come on down, kick off your shoes We’re gonna dance all night Beneath that Creo moon Just me and you baby Beneath the Cajun moon Feel that grass beneath your feet Feel me pullin’ you close to me Feel that Bayou air so sweet Feel the way my heart does beat So come on down to my Bar-B-Que The only thing cookin’ is me and you Ever since I looked in your eyes I realized I found my prize So come on down, kick off your shoes We’re gonna dance all night Beneath that Creo moon Just me and you baby, Beneath the Cajun moon Love your skin in the blue moonlight Love that white dress on so tight Love that sparkle in your eyes Love to kiss you till the morning light You think that an earth quake can shake You think a hurricane is strong But all I want to do is make…. Make love to you all night long….
11.
Rodeo 04:04
I hear Morning doves Singing outside Your warm body Lyin next to mine But Honey, You know I’ve got to go I can’t be late They’re watching me They’re gonna dock my pay But when you undo those buttons The way your dress falls to your feet The look in those big green eyes Is anything but discreet Our love is like a rodeo Wild rides but we don’t let go We hold on tight For the rest of your life So babe I’m kickin off my boots Work today just don’t compute I’ve got a clue I’m stayin home with you… We still got some lovin to do … So I won’t worry ‘bout the money …won’t worry ‘bout the rent Your logic is sweeter than honey Your reasoning’s heaven sent So baby give me one more kiss Who cares about the work I’ll miss You know the world needs more of this And I love it when you whisper You know in a rodeo You only got to ride eight seconds I think I can do a little better than that
12.
Shambala Bar 04:32
Friday night I love the lights The way they glisten in the streets I pass the whores in darkened doors These are places I don’t need I know this bar a little too far Where everybody is so cool They buy me drinks, the girls they wink And they’re so beautiful And when the band plays We let the music warm us Arm in arm we lift our drinks And sing out with the chorus We are home At the Shambala bar Where loneliness is left out in the rain Where love is the perfume in the air Once you’re there You’ll never want to leave Seems like a year since I’ve been here Like I’ve crossed an ocean and a sea To be with friends who’ve come so far To be in paradise with me The bar’s alive on overdrive The tangaray is flowin The girls are dancing on the tables There’s no place that I am going

Five hundred dollars A coyote named Salvador Got me into California twenty years ago I left my wife and family At my mother’s farm in Mexico Headed for El Norte With my dreams and hopes I was nineteen, I had a plan Feed my wife and family Come home and buy some land Seems so long ago As the morning sun cuts through the haze I prune the roses shake my head Try to count the days… Angelina, Angelina what have I done Angelina, you know you’re still the one For all the money I’ve sent home I’d buy back those years If you look in my eyes…Angelina You’ll see those El Norte Tears Got my own pick up truck, got my own room I’ve got every letter that you ever wrote With the scent of perfume Didn’t make it home for Christmas Work’s slow that time of year Damn this homesickness Your whisper in my ear All this time we’ve been far apart Has not been good for each of our hearts My father has died, my children have grown This dream has faded I want to come home…. Too many days since I held you in my arms Too many nights looking at stars If I could awake and look in your eyes All of these years would simply fly by
14.
We haven’t seen the sun in days They’re calling for more rain The kids want to go outside and play But I find these days they don’t complain I think you know how much we miss you How the house doesn’t get as warm Oh how I want to be with you Just a walk in the rain would do Just to feel that light behind you eyes I won’t forget those autumn evenings I won’t forget September skies I promised you I would remember That light that shines behind your eyes Some nights I wake up listening for you I can hear you coming through the door I hear you trying not to awaken me Please forgive me if I want more Sometimes I feel so angry What I would give for a little more time All the things we used to do Talk about the kids in school I can feel that light behind your eyes
